Peter Zawoiski

Peter Kenneth Zawoiski, 63, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on August 24, 2016, at Geisinger Hospital, Danville.
Born on May 12, 1953, in Mineola, NY, he was the son of the late Peter and Claire (Sweeney) Zawoiski. Peter graduated from E.L. Meyers High School and graduated from Kings College with his bachelor’s degree. He went on to obtain his master’s degree from Florida University.
He worked as a senior contracting officer for the Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency, Philadelphia until retiring in 2014. Surviving are his sisters, Dianne Defrehn and her husband, Al, Plains, Joan Vitali and her husband, Gene, Parsons, niece, Michelle Vitali Parsons, Great nephew, Hunter Borchert and his loving pet, Katrina and best friend of 15 years, Paul Stamberger, who enjoyed traveling together, winters in Florida, loved yorkies and wouldn’t harm any living thing, a true brother and friend.
Services were private and at the convenience of the family.
