Peter J. Jadus. 94, of West Avoca, passed away peacefully on March 14th, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Avoca, on June 4th, 1930, he was a son of the late George and Barbara (Chowonczyk) Jadus.
Peter graduated from Avoca High School and worked for Craft Oil Company, Avoca for over 28 years. He then worked for NRT and Semenza Fireworks. Even in retirement, he always enjoyed keeping busy and worked at TJ Maxx Warehouse or helped his son, John, mowing grass.
He was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish (former Ss. Peter & Paul Church). He was very active at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, he was a member of the Men’s Club, Alter Server, Eucharistic Minister, Usher, Choir and the Holy Name Society. Peter also was a member of the West Side Social Club, Avoca, where he served as a Past President and Knights of Columbus, Pittston, Council 372.
He loved being a Father and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Augustyniak, Jennie Waleski, Veronica Yuschovitz, Stephanie Kuna, Frances Lesniak, Wanda Skorupski, brothers, Casimir, Joseph, Stanley, John Jadus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Ann (Biga) Jadus, two loving daughters, Barbara Pearce (Barry), Bellefonte, PA, Kathy Krawczyk (Kevin), Pittston Twp., two loving sons, Peter Jadus Jr. (Annette), Archbald, John Jadus (Amy), grandchildren, Benjamin (Ashley) Pearce, Joseph (Lauren) Pearce, Michael (Morgan) Pearce, Anthony Jadus, Amber Jadus, Jessica (Matthew) McDermott, Kevin Krawczyk, Andrew Krawczyk, Jaiden Jadus and Johnny Jadus, great grandchildren, Grace, Noah, Lillian, Lyra, Lucian and Alec Pearce, Connor McDermott, numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 18th, at Queen of the Apostles Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 19th at 10:00 AM in Queen of the Apostles Church, with Father Phillip J. Sladicka officiating, with interment to follow in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Moosic.
Memorial donations can be made to Queen of the Apostles Church.
