Patricia Ann (Miller) Burton, 78, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on January 11, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Marion O. (Dooley) Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tashandra Burton; sisters, Gladys Miller, Myrtle Miller, Valorra Claiborne; brothers, Harold, Donald, Wilbur Miller, and Benjamin Claiborne.

Patricia graduated from G.A.R. High School and became the first female, as well as African American female to become a Mine Safety Inspector. She was a strong, loving, family woman. She loved her grandchildren; they were everything to her.

Patricia is survived by a son, Maurice Burton and his wife Michelle, Etters, PA; daughter, Tamila “Tami” Burton, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Shane Burton, Lexi Burton, and Londyn Burton; a host of great grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Lee Miller; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Homegoing Services will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, 11:00 AM, at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral home, 465 S. Main St. Wilkes Barre, with Reverend Michael Brewster officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
