Monica D. (Hammond) Williams, 79, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at Allied Services Hospice Unit, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Hudson, Michigan on October 1, 1944, she is a daughter of the late Vincent E. and Anna (Durling) Hammond.

Monica was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School class of 1962, member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Wyoming Chapter 1 and involved in Pack 1 Cub Scouts. She especially loved collecting depression glass and gardening, having traveled with her husband to flower shows in London and Philadelphia. Monica also loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Donna Fox.

Monica is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, William Williams along with her loyal dog Abby; sons, Vincent Williams and wife, Lori, Frederick, MD, Martin Williams and wife, Holly, Mountain Top and Aaron Williams, Vancouver, WA; grandchildren, Katee, Alex, Brad, Alison and Reagan; nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow in Orcutt’s Grove Cemetery, Noxen.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the service.
