Michael  Schmidt, 79, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Gardens at Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Ashley on November 13, 1944, he was a son of the late George and Ann Rejunis Schmidt. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed attending St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.

Michael enjoyed working with and training homing Pigeons.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Virgrs) Schmidt; brothers, George and John Schmidt; and sisters, Nancy and Miriam Schmidt.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private family services will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek.
