Marsha Carrol (Stricker) Stanish, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2021, at the Gardens at East Mountain, Wilkes-Barre. She went to be with the Lord at the age of 78.
She was born on May 3, 1943, in Wilkes-Barre, and was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert S. Stricker and the former Martha Arner. She was married to the love of her life, John F. Stanish, who preceded her in death.
Marsha was a lifetime member of The Episcopal Church of St. Clement & St. Peter, Wilkes-Barre, where she enjoyed singing with the choir. She was a member and former Past Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star Wyoming, Chapter 1. She was a former Avon representative and sold for almost 40 years. She made many lifelong friends and enjoyed seeing and spending time with them. She graduated from E.L. Meyers High School Class of 1962, and she enjoyed meeting with her graduating class for luncheons on a regular basis.
She loved her animals, crafting, and was an avid gardener. You would always find her out in the yard planting her flowers or taking care of her vegetable garden. She loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marsha was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin R. Phillips, Nanticoke.
She is survived by her children, Lisa A. Phillips, and her husband, Mark Phillips (Nanticoke); Liz Hossage (Wilkes Barre); Jessica Stanish (Wilkes Barre); and John R. Stanish and his wife, Lora (Swoyersville); her grandchildren, Joshua, Doreen, Andy, Scarlet; great-grandchildren Emma, Dylan, and Ava; brother, Robert B. Stricker (Shickshinny).
A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 465 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral Liturgy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021, at The Episcopal Church of St. Clement & St. Peter, 165 Hanover St. Wilkes-Barre, with Father Charles Warwick, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
