Marion Gertrude (Martin) Frantz

Marion Gertrude (Martin) Frantz, 98, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, at The Gardens of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, on August 6, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Augusta (Behrens) Martin.

Marion was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre and later attended Faith Lutheran Church, Blakeslee, while living with her son and daughter in law.  She was the Past President of Meals on Wheels, Wyoming Valley Chapter and a member of the Westside Flower Club.  Marion was an active member of Wyoming Chapter #1 Order of Eastern Star.

She operated the family owned trucking company, Frantz Transfer, which delivered the Times Leader newspaper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlan F. Frantz, and a brother, Spencer Martin.

Surviving her are a son, Paul and his wife, Janet Frantz, Blakeslee, 3 grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife, Jana Frantz and one great grandchild on the way, Megan Frantz and her fiancé Ron Bogart, Christine and her husband, Scott,  and one great grandson, Forrest, a brother, Leonard and his wife, Louise Martin, numerous nieces and nephews.

Eastern Star services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, at 11:00 A.M from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Pastor Wayne Kaufman following to celebrate Marion's life. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00 AM till the time of the service.
