Marianne C (Brieling) Staley

Marianne C. (Brieling) Staley, 73, of Larksville, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hanover on August 17, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Sinay) Brieling. Marianne was a 1966 graduate of Hanover Area High School and a lifelong member at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, formerly St. Aloysius, Wilkes Barre. She was a woman of strong Christian faith who accepted everything life handed her with a smile on her face; no matter the challenge. She was selfless; always thinking of and doing for others even at her own greatest time of need. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed time with her family, crocheting, listening to Elvis and watching football. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Wayne Brieling. Marianne is survived by her loving husband, Robert W. Staley Sr.; son, Robert W. Staley Jr. and his wife Barbara; daughter, Michelle Sgarlat and her husband Jamie; grandchildren, Brandon Gawelko, Kyle Staley, Hunter and Mason Sgarlat; brothers, George, Stanley, Jim, Marty, and Mark Brieling. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at St Robert Bellarmine Parish, formerly St. Aloysius 143 W. Division St. Wilkes Barre, PA 18706, with Reverend Richard J. Cirba officiating. There will be no calling hours or gatherings before or following the mass.
