Lorraine (Reese) Williamson, 83, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

Lorraine was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 14, 1934, to the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Powell) Reese.

She graduated from Meyers High School in 1952. Lorraine worked at Pioneer Manufacturing. She moved to Miami in 1957 to work at Southern Bell Telephone, Gater Freightways, and Georgia Highway Express. Lorraine became a truck driver and then went on to work in Payroll and Personnel, where she ran the Hialeah Branch. While in Florida, Lorraine became the first female to gain her pilot’s license. In 1972, she returned to Pennsylvania. Here, she worked for Abe’s Hot Dogs and Franklin First Federal Savings Bank until she retired.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine is preceded in death by husbands, Richard Placek and Paul Golden, her stepfather, Delbert Thomas, and two brothers, Herbert Reese, and Russell Thomas.

Lorraine is survived by her sons, Richard Placek, and Michael Golden (Dallas), a daughter, Lorraine (Golden) Lugar (Swoyersville), 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
