Lonnetta "Nita" Sherry

With deep sorrow and enduring love, we announce the passing of Lonnetta Sherry, who left this world on March 31, 2025, at the age of 45 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Born and raised in Keyport, New Jersey, Lonnetta was a bright light in every life she touched.

A dedicated nurse for 15 years, Lonnetta’s love language was helping others. She found joy and purpose in caring for people-not just through her profession, but through every part of who she was. She had a passion for cooking, feeding others, and making everyone feel at home. But above all else, her greatest pride and joy was being a mother. Raising her children was not just her role-it was her calling, and she succeeded with grace, strength, and unconditional love.

Lonnetta is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Debra Ann Reiner and Lonnie James Sherry; her siblings Eatline Scarlett and baby boy Reiner.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Shoats; her children, Ni’Ashia Sherry, Justine Sherry, and Justice Shoats; and her siblings, Christine M. Reiner, James Mason, Antoinette Bonds, Marlene Crews and Michelle Davis, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.

Lonnetta’s legacy lives on through the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the family she built. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
