Ljiljana G. (Hrbas) Kumar, 80, of Laflin, took her final lap on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was the daughter of Gustav Hrbas and Katharina Lutz. She proudly earned her B.S. in Economics in Belgrade, Serbia.
Ljiljana was a woman of many passions: oil painting, globe-trotting, Formula 1 racing, and a gin and tonic that could knock your socks off. Her high-speed driving skills were legendary, often resulting in friendly escorts home by the Laflin police. She was affectionately nicknamed “Fangio,” after the world-class Formula 1 champion.
She joins her husband, Ashok T. Kumar, and her brother, Dusan (Buca) Hrbas, in the great racetrack in the sky. Ljiljana leaves behind her two loving daughters, Sherry and Monika, her son-in-law Tim, and her grandson Alexander.
In true Ljiljana fashion, services were private, just for her family. Here’s to a life lived at full throttle!
