Listen to Obituary

Linda S. (Bond) Mendoza, 60, of Luzerne, passed away with one of her sweet sisters by her side on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Edwardsville on August 10, 1961, she was a daughter of Harold Bond and the late Helen (Liss) Bond.

Linda was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. She worked as stenographer before she became a stay-at-home mom who was dedicated to raising her family. Always being a hard worker, she then worked in the retail industry after raising her family.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, and playing bingo and was also an avid collection of Peanuts memorabilia. Linda had a witty sense of humor and loved her sweet cats. She was strong and smart, especially with math and her ability to remember numbers.  Linda fought to overcome the many struggles and tragedies she had been faced with in life. She had a true love for all her family, and she deserved that same love. Linda will be so sadly missed by her family and all that knew her.

In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Liss.

Linda is survived by her husband of almost 36 years, Vincent Mendoza, Sr.; sons, Vincent Mendoza, Jr. and Robert Mendoza; daughter, Rebecca Mendoza; father, Harold Bond; brothers, Jeffrey Bond and wife, Mary Ann, Harold Bond and wife, Linda, James Bond and wife, Katie and Kenneth Bond and wife, Diane; sisters, Lisa McGahee and husband, Pastor Adam, Cheryl Chabalko and husband, Tom and Kimberly Sutton and husband, Kyle and numerous nieces and nephews.

A public memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Moving River Ministries Church, 453 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be Pastor Jeffrey Bond.
