Katherine Jean (Staley) Beckhorn

Katherine Jean (Staley) Beckhorn, passed away on July 3, 2025, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born on May 3, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Fredrick) Staley.

After graduating high school, Katherine went on to get her associate’s degree in applied nursing. She loved being outdoors, whether it was window shopping, listening to local bands, or going to farmers markets, she loved to stay active. She enjoyed dancing, especially to her favorite artists Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton. But above all, she loved spending time with her family and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Beckhorn; and granddaughter, Felecia Housenick.

Surviving to cherish her memory are daughters, Bonnie Harris, Nancy Reese, Debbie Benjamin, and Laura Padilla; son, Joseph Beckhorn; her companion, Dave Rowland; sisters, Bonnie Staley and Nancy Dourand; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, from 10-12 at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre, with a 12PM service. Interment will immediately follow the service at Oaklawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
