John A. Sysak, 87, of Plains, PA, passed away on June 20, 2023, at Tiffany Court,  Kingston. He was born on November 3, 1935, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to the late Alexander Sysak and Mary (Hubiak) Sysak-Kaputsky.

John obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Kings College. He was a faithful member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral, where he found solace and spiritual guidance.

Having served his country, John was a proud veteran of the United States Army and Army Reserves.

Throughout his professional life, John worked as a salesman in accounting and estate planning.  He dedicated his time and efforts to his occupation, leaving a mark of professionalism and dedication.

In his leisure time, John had a variety of interests and hobbies. He found joy in watching the Philadelphia Eagles, shooting darts, fixing cars, and visiting Atlantic City. These activities brought him happiness and relaxation.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan H. (Stiers) Sysak, who passed on January 21, 2017,  two brothers, Harry and Michael Sysak.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, John Sysak, and his girlfriend, Milagros Ramos,  Odenton, Maryland, and her daughter, Carrisa Gonzales, and her granddaughter, Victoria Young, Glen Burnie, Maryland.

The service for John A. Sysak will be held on Saturday, July 1, at  10:00 AM in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral, 591 N. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, with, officiated by Father Gregory White, Sr., officiating. Following the service, John will be laid to rest in Edge Hill Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM till the time of the service at the church.

John A. Sysak's life was one of service, dedication, and joy. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
