John J. Singer, Jr., 73, of Scranton, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at Allied Services Skilled Nursing, Scranton.
Born in Pittston on September 28, 1952, he was a son of the late John and Lucy (Adonizio) Singer.
John graduated from Pittston Area and LCCC. He later retired from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, where he worked as a phlebotomist.
He enjoyed working with the Little Theater in Wilkes-Barre, singing in the church choir, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Sci-Fi movies. John especially enjoyed playing Santa Clause.
John is survived by his wife, Debbie (Weidow) Singer; daughters, Katie Hoeffner and husband, Todd, Kingston; Karen O’Hora and her husband, Ryan, Scranton; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Alexander Hoeffner, Ryan, Liam and Noah O’Hora; sisters, Mary Kizis, Christine Perrone and brother, Jeffrey Singer.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St, Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
