John P. O'Boyle

John P. O’Boyle, 63, passed away on June 14, 2026, at Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born on July 10, 1962, he was the son of the late John Francis and Valerie (Pechino) O’Boyle.

After graduating high school, John went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force. Once receiving his honorable discharge, John worked the majority of his life as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. John was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 607, and the West Side Club in Avoca. In his free time, he loved to hunt, fish, and was a huge sports fan, especially the New York Giants.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Susan O’Boyle; and his grandparents.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife, Marilyn O’Boyle; brother, Mark O’Boyle; and sister, Judy O’Boyle; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private cremation services have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Avoca.
