John V. Floryan Sr., 78, of Swoyersville, passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2024, at his home.
Born on April 14, 1946, he was the son of the late John L. and Susan (Sakolick) Floryan.
John enlisted in the Army where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon leaving the Army, he worked at PG&W for over 40 years. He was a devout member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Kingston. In his free time, John loved to garden, fish, hunt, watch sports, and going to the horse races at Pocono Downs. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, who he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by brother, Leonard Floryan.
Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Rosemary (Kolendowicz) Floryan, Swoyersville; son, John V. Floryan Jr., and wife Lory, Kingston; daughter, Jessica Podlaski and husband Jonathan, Swoyersville; sisters, Barbara Wisniewski and husband Len, Belvidere, NJ and Arlene Rynkiewicz, Larksville; his two grandchildren, Julianna Floryan and Charlie Floryan; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on August 18, 2024, from 4-6 P.M. at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, and from 9:00 A.M. till the time of the Mass at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 19 at 10 A.M. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Kingston, 339 N Maple Ave, with Father Paul Yeboah.
Services have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Wilkes-Barre.
