John Joseph Coledo, 90, of Edwardsville, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his family.
Born in Williamsport on April 23, 1934, he was the son of the late John James and Mary (Zuchowski) Coledo.
John proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre, and its Holy Name Society. He was instrumental in organizing the first St. Nicholas Church bazaar. He was also a lifetime member of St. Conrad’s Young Men’s Society where he was a bartender for many years.
John was employed by Jack Williams Tire Company until his retirement in 1999. He then went on to work several part-time jobs including Choice One Federal Credit Union and Williams Bus Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Patricia Manzitti and Son-In-Law, David Kosloski.
John is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Clementine (Steinbacher) Coledo; son, John (Pamela) Coledo; daughters, Judith Kosloski and Lisa (Jack) McNulty; grandchildren, Tara (Steve) Dorris; Kristin (Brady) Belles; John (Ariel) Coledo; David (Ashley) Kosloski; Sarah (Michael) Hliwski; Kaitlyn (Judd) Carr; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Michael (Diane) Coledo; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Friday, May 10th, at 10:30 AM from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St, Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with Father Joseph Verespy officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township, with Military Honors.
Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre.
