Janice L. Walker, 66, of Wilkes-Barre, entered into eternal peace on Friday evening, February 12, 2016 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America, Philadelphia.

Born on November 28, 1949 in Tifton, GA, she was a daughter of Ossie Lee (Milner) Walker of Tifton, GA and the late Mazeo Walker, Sr.

Janice was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre, where she served as the Church Clerk, a Trustee and was a member of the United Voices Choir.
She was previously employed by Blue Cross of NEPA for over 20 years. She went on to work as a Configuration Analyst at TMG Health, Inc. and was currently employed by Navient.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.  Janice was a consummate homemaker who loved to cook.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mazeo Walker Sr. and sister, Rubye J. Bloodworth.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Ossie Lee (Milner) Walker, Tifton, GA:  her loving daughters, Karen M. Daughtry, Wilkes-Barre and Stephanie Brewster and her husband, Rev. Michael E. Brewster also of Wilkes-Barre; 4 grandchildren; Rianna, Cameron, Kendall and Keagan; brothers Terriel Walker and wife, Peggy, Austell, GA; Mazeo Walker, Jr. and wife, Kim, Tifton, GA; sisters, Patricia Walker, Miami, FL; Odessa Andrews, Tifton, GA; Dr. Lynn Clemons, Lithia Springs, GA and Beverly Jean Walker, Tifton, GA; goddaughter, Julisa Walters, Wilkes-Barre, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Homegoing Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill St, Wilkes-Barre, with Janice’s son-in-law, the Reverend Michael E. Brewster, officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.  Family and Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
