Nancy (Jane) Noonan

Jane (Rooney) Noonan was born in Fayette, Alabama in 1942 but resided in Mt. Top, PA until her death on April 30, 2025.

She was the daughter of Mildred (Garner) Rooney and the late William Rooney. Jane was a 1961 graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School and Empire Beauty School, Wilkes-Barre. Jane retired from Fairchild Semi-Conductor formerly RCA, Mt. Top, after 43 years of service and until her death, worked as a direct care worker for CareGivers America for many years.

Ms. Noonan competed in several Polka dancing competitions and won 1st place awards. Jane was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to her father, Jane was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, John Rooney, NJ; niece and nephew, Kathleen Avalone and Heath McLaughlin; great niece and nephew, Ryan and Alyssa Avalone; and boyfriend, John Gurzynski.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St, Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be Pastor Haenftling. Interment will follow in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Wyoming. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.
