Jane Marcincavage, 72, of Hanover Township, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after lengthy illness and being a guest Birchwood Nursing Center for two years.

Born in Georgetown section of Wilkes-Barre Township, she was the daughter of the late Ignatius J. and Ethel B. (Williams) Marcincavage.

As a small child, she moved to the Heights and graduated from G.A.R. High School. As a child, Jane enjoyed swimming and diving, spending many summers at Griffiths Pool.

Jane moved to New Jersey where she worked as a waitress before moving back to Wilkes-Barre, where she worked in a sewing factory and shoe factory.  She was of the Catholic Faith.

Later in life, she enjoyed cooking and baking for family, especially everyone's favorites, her meatballs and dessert squares while listening to Oldies or Elvis.   Jane enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and family dinners on the holidays.  She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and reading a good book.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, John Mleczynski, Sr., a son, Tony Marcincavage, two infant grandchildren, Adam & Andrew Marcincavage, two sisters, Lorraine Laury, Ann Marie Marcincavage, three brothers, James Marcincavage, Andrew & Paul Shramko.

Surviving are four loving sons, Tim and his wife, Joanne Marcincavage, John Mleczynski, Jr., Dominick Mleczynski, Angelo Mleczynski, a daughter in law, Tammy Marcincavage, wife of Tony, 8 grandchildren, John Mlecyznski, Holly Chihany, Paige, Leanna, Tim, April, Tony Jr., Danny Marcincavage, a sister, Ethel Dunn, two brothers, David and Robert Marcincavage.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, at 11:00 A.M. from Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with Father Fidel Picona. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
