James Keyburn passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
James served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, from October 1968 to September 1970. He never stopped loving his country, and he held his fellow veterans in the highest regard, always making sure they were treated with dignity and respect.
He was a skilled pool player, a gifted sketch artist, and an excellent baseball player. He was strong, had a clever sense of humor, and had a soft spot for anyone in need. He loved nature, hunting, and fishing.
Family meant a great deal to James, and he treasured his recent visits with his brother Jackie and sister Diane. He is survived by Diane, Jackie, and his brother William, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen, and his sister, Joan.
He will be remembered as a proud veteran and a man who loved his family.
James will be laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in a private service.
