Jacqueline A. “Jackie” (Evans) White, 71, of Wapwallopen, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away July 7th, 2017, at Guardian Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke. Born on March 19, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Johnathan and Carrie (Grego) Evans. Jackie started her career working as a Certified Nurse’s Aide and later retired from Harris Semiconductor, Mountain Top, where she worked in the shipping/receiving department. She was a member of St. Clement & St. Peter Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre. Jackie adored her family and loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee and Parcheesi with her friends on the computer. Jackie was an avid Nascar fan, with Jeff Gordon being her favorite. She even got married at a Nascar race to her loving husband, Jim White, in September of 1996. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Laing T. Batchler, III; two infant brothers; and a sister, Barbara Evans. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jim White; daughters, Carrie Batchler, Jackie Roat-Yachera, Jodie Walsh and husband, Scott and Jaime White; 10 grandchildren, Morgan, Justin, Laing IV, Tosha Jessica, Kassie, Quinton, Bri, Tyler and Alex; and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, July 15, from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may visit from 5:00-7:00 P.M., with Services at 7:00 P.M. Father Charlie Warwick will be officiating. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery at a later date.
