Henry M. Wuorio, 74, of Hanover Township, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family
Born on April 29, 1942, in Staten Island, NY, he was a son of the late Henry and Tyyne (Widen) Wuorio.
Henry proudly served in the United States Navy for 21 years, having received several medals and commendations. He traveled to many places in the world during his service time and was extremely dedicated to serving his country. After retiring from the Navy in 1981, Henry worked for PPL as a technician for 26 years.
Henry enjoyed spending time traveling with his family, watching television and attending local car races.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Roberta J. (Ripple) Wuorio; his children, Michael Wuorio, Sandra Reid, Bridget Sarnosky and husband, Jason Carpenter, Georgia Buxton and Gerald Wuorio and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Aleisha, Kamrie, Meghan, Colin, Cameron, Alex, Danielle and Bryce; brother, Ronald Wuorio; sister, Barbara Tucker, niece, Joy Shakelton and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 4th at 3:00 P.M. from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may visit from 1:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor Sperazza from Albright United Methodist Church.
Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
