Helen A. Boback, 78, of Wilkes Barre, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Riverstreet Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes Barre.

Born on January 9, 1944, in Washington DC she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Genevieve (Grimes) Boback. She attended Plymouth elementary school and Hanover High School.

Helen loved with all her heart and led a life caring for others. She enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews and had close relationships with her family. Without fail, her family could always count on a happy birthday serenade phone call from Helen. Helen was a woman filled with kindness and she always made everyone feel welcome. Helen also had a deep love of animals and would rescue and give them a loving home. She donated monthly to many animal organizations and enjoyed receiving gifts from them as a thank you for her contributions.

Helen loved dancing, especially to the oldies. She would go dancing anywhere and everywhere she had the opportunity. She was a fan of old western movies and anything that aired on MeTV. Her family takes comfort in their fond memories of the wonderful woman Helen was. Helen was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Wilkes Barre.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald, Joseph, and Andrew Boback.

Surviving Helen is her sister Jenny Vitale and husband Bass Vitale, Wilkes Barre, sister Frances Setta, Wilkes Barre, goddaughter Jennie James, Oregon as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held for family and close friends at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. Wilkes Barre.
