Gertrude "Sis" (Dunbar) Rogers

Gertrude “Sis” (Dunbar) Rogers, 76, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born on October 24, 1948, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Gertrude (Schnapp) Dunbar.

Sis worked in janitorial services for several years for her brother’s cleaning company, Personal Touch. In her free time, she loved watching scary movies, going to car shows, and spending time with her friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Sis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard R. Rogers, and brothers, Earl Dunbar and William Dunbar.

Surviving and cherishing Sis’ memory are her daughter, Tracy Rogers and husband, David Gyle, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Sarah Gyle, Allentown, Alyssa Gyle, Wilkes-Barre, and Aiden Gyle, Wilkes-Barre; and brothers, Edward Dunbar and wife Geri, Pringle, and Paul Dunbar.

Sis’ family would like everyone to take comfort knowing she and her husband, Rick, are now at peace together.

The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Embassy Wyoming Valley for the care they afforded Sis in her final days.

A visitation will be held on February 19, 2025, at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, from 2-4.
