Gerry Cofer

Gerry Bruce Cofer, Sr., 67, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, at his home.

Gerry was born in Nashville, TN on August 13, 1956.  He was a long-time resident of Bucks County and retired to Wilkes-Barre in recent years.

Gerry enjoyed listening to music, fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, cooking and spending time with family and friends.  His grandchildren were the light of his life.  Those who knew Gerry knew that he was loving and generous, would always say it like it is, happy to give anyone a hard time, had a dry sense of humor and loved to laugh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Cofer and brothers Terry and Gil.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Lisa (Derkits) Cofer; 4 children, Gerry Cofer, Jr., Germaine Cofer, Grace Cofer and Jackson Cofer; 6 grandchildren, Jakob, James, Adelyn, Cali, Ariella and Juniper; his mother, Margie (Jackson) Amerio; 5 siblings, David, Gail, Pam, Sue and Marvin and many extended family members.  He will be tremendously missed by his best friend of 50 years, Hal Williams, and everyone that knew him.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre is entrusted with arrangements.
