Our beloved Georgia Calimeres, 89, left us on Monday, April 14th, 2025. Born in Epidavros, Greece, daughter of Peter and Anne Vlahos, Georgia was one of five children. In 1973, Georgia, her husband Peter, and their two children migrated to the United States and settled in Wilkes-Barre, PA. They worked in the donut and coffee shop business. They raised their two children in the local Greek community and were active members in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Wilkes-Barre. Georgia was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her passions were cooking, gardening, and traveling to Greece during the summer. She will be remembered for her patience, big heart, and kindness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Calimeres, two brothers, Iraklis (Australia) and George Vlahos (Michigan), and a sister, Maria Kaloudi (Greece). She leaves behind her son, Harry and his wife Natalia, son Chris, two grandchildren, Peter and Georgia, two sisters, Sofia Masouras (Allentown) and Christine Batos (Greece). Friends and family can pay respects at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 32 Ross St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 on Tuesday, April 22nd, between 9 and 11 AM. A mass service will follow starting at 11 AM. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Hanover Township. Memorial contributions in memory of Georgia can be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
