George A. Harris, 61, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Portsmouth, VA on August 22, 1953, he was a son of the late Kenwood and Marie (Wilson) Harris.  He was a graduate of Duke University.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Harris was employed as a Certified Public Accountant in the Philadelphia Area.

He loved watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 3 years, Mable (Felder) Jones; brothers Kinwood Harris, Sr. and wife, Nish; and Larry Harris and wife, Valerie; a sister Mary Annette Mitchell and her husband, Vince; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Pastor Sam Johnson officiating.  Friends may call Saturday from 12:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
