Fotini Tsioles

Fotini Tsioles, 84, of Kingston, passed away Sunday evening, November 9, 2014, at her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Tsioles was born in Levidi, Greece, on February 20, 1930, the daughter of the late Haralabos and Christina Kalimeres.  She was a life member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre and was also an active member of Philoptochos Society (Friend of the Poor).

She and her husband, George, came to the United States in 1971 and opened Mister Donut, now known as Curry Donuts, in Kingston in 1974.  A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and helped to raise all 12 of them.  An extremely hard-working woman, she loved to cook and clean and was noted for never leaving a dirty dish in the sink.  Always willing to provide great advice in a gentle and soft voice, taking care of her family and home was always first on her list.

Surviving is her loving husband of over 60 years, George Tsioles; her sons Nick (Cindy) Tsioles and Ted (Michele) Tsioles; her daughters Cathy (Peter) Theodorelos and Christina (Theodore) Spyroupoulos.  She also leaves behind her 12 grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with services at 10:00 a.m. in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 32 East Ross Street, Wilkes-Barre.  Father Gabriel Nicholas will officiate.  Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A Trisagion Service will be held at 6:00 p.m.
