Florence J (Beckles) Solomon

Florence J. (Beckles) Solomon, 74, of Plymouth, formerly of New York, passed away on Wednesday, May 7th, at Allied Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born on April 26th, 1951, in Trinidad and Tobago, she was the daughter of the late Prince and Dorothy (Mitchell) Beckles.

Florence enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family.  She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Brooklyn, NY.

Prior to retiring she worked for many years for SL Green Security Company in Manhattan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Solomon, a son Jason Solomon, and a brother, Courtney Mitchell.

Surviving are her loving children, Joanne Solomon, Jillian St. Omer and her husband, Wayne, Jiselle Solomon, Jamila Blyther, Francis Solomon, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sisters, Cheryl Pasqual and Viola Fleurimond, brother Albert Mitchell, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service at their convenience.  Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services have been entrusted with arrangements.
