Elizabeth F (Barrett) Herbert

Elizabeth F. "Betty" (Barrett) Herbert, 99, of Moosic passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020  at Green Ridge Care Center, Scranton.

Born in Avoca on September 13, 1921, in Avoca, she was s daughter of the late Thomas and Edith (Legg) Barrett.

She was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Avoca VFW 8335. Prior to retiring, she worked as an injection mold operator at Fairfield Plastics, Fairfield CT.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Herbert, who passed away in 1976; her brothers Thomas J. Barrett and Clement J. Barret; her sisters Mary Barrett, Louise Hamilton, Beatrice Felner, and Edith Gabriel.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Queen of the Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with the Reverend Philip J. Sladicka officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Avoca.  Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
