Eleanor D. (Kozak) Chmiel, 89, of Duryea, passed away at home on December 3, 2021.

Born in Avoca, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Casa) Kozak.

Eleanor was a garment worker for Laura Fashions. She was a member of Queen of The Apostles Parish, Avoca.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Chmiel; son, Michael Frank Chmiel; and brothers, Robert Kozak, and Michael “Jr” Kozak.

Although Eleanor was the last surviving member of her family, she is survived by a daughter-in-law, Carol Chmiel.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 1:00 PM , at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 728 Main Street Avoca, with Father Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus cemetery, Dupont.
