Edward W. Erdman, 71, of Bear Creek Township, passed away on Friday, November 15th, at home, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 18, 1953, in Washington D.C., he was a son of the late Donald and Lois (Honeycut) Erdman. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre
Edward served in the US Navy during Vietnam before earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology in 1986. After graduating with honors, he worked for Texas Instrument as a design engineer before being employed by Marriott Corporation and Sodexo as a Contract and Regional manager. He was responsible for managing facilities, grounds, and maintenance departments for area colleges including King's and Keystone before retiring.
Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a devoted friend and would take any opportunity to visit and catch up with friends and family. When he wasn't working on some new home improvement project, he took every opportunity to attend live concerts and events, hike the many wonderful trails and parks in and around PA as well as wine tastings in and around NY and PA.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Helen (O'Hara) Erdman, 4 loving sons, William, (Plymouth, Michigan), James, (Wilkes-Barre), Jonathan. (Luzerne), Robert, (Gaithersburg, MD), a brother, Gordon Erdman and his wife, Donna, (N. Augusta, SC), and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, 11/22 from 4- 6 pm with a memorial service to follow at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre
