Douglas W (Sr) Motley

Douglas W. Motley, Sr., 58, of Hanover Twp., passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Born on December 31, 1962, in Newark, NJ, he was a son of the late Willie A. and Delores (Allen) Motley.

Douglas was employed as a General Supervisor for the Salvation Army for over 15 years.  Through his faith and dedication, he managed to save countless lives with the Adult Rehabilitation Program. He enjoyed cooking, watching basketball and football and collecting movies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles H. Motley and Willie A. Motley, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are fiancé, Cathy Carpenter; sons, Douglas W. Motley, Jr., Dwayne Motley and Darnell Motley; grandchildren, Douglas III, Kristopher, Davion, Wade, Mia, Lyndon, Madison, Jasai, Ny-Zir and Zaire; brothers, Marc E. Motley, Sr. and Bruce Allen; sisters, Kim Farlow, Yvonne Lee, Cynthia Motley, Mary Motley and Darlene Basile and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:00 PM at the Salvation Army ARC. 60 Hill St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. Friends may pay their respects from 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Major Kathleen White will be leading the service and officiating will be Major Bea Connell.

Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
