Debra S. (Sims) Bish

Debra Susan (Sims) Bish (60), better known as Debbie, formerly of Swoyersville, PA passed away on April 27, 2022 surrounded by family after recent health issues. Born on March 18,1962 in Wilkes Barre, PA she was the youngest child and only daughter to the late Herbert Sims (2004) and Laura "Sue" (Zim) Sims (2009). She was part of the 1980 graduating class at Wyoming Valley West High School in Plymouth, PA.

Debbie was formally employed by Toys R Us and Shop Rite of Wilkes-Barre. She enjoyed her puzzles, jewel painting, bowling where she was a member of the 300 club, fishing, collecting Disney Snow globes, and anything having to do with Elvis.

Debbie is now reunited with her daughter Christine Bish (1996), her brother Frank Sims (1999) and her parents.

She is survived by her four children, daughters Jennifer Murley and husband Nicholas of Throop, PA and Allison Bish of Plymouth, PA. Sons Jeffrey Bish and Michael Bish both of Kingston, PA. A granddaughter, Elizabeth Murley of Throop. Along with a sister-in-law, nephews, cousins, and a brother with his wife.

Her children would like to thank the staff of Allied Hospice in Scranton and the Bayada nurses of Wilkes-Barre for their loving care and support they gave Debbie.

In lieu of flowers Debra's children ask that a donation be made to the Ronald McDonald House so that they may continue to help families as they once did ours long ago with Christine.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 465 South Main St. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. The family will have a celebration of life and burial at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Lehman, PA at a later date.
