Daniel J.  McDermott, 80, of Dallas, surrounded by his loving family  went home to the Lord peacefully on Monday evening at his home.

Born in Nanticoke, on November 11, 1940, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary (Manko) McDermott, Sr.

He was a 1961 graduate of the Lake-Lehman High School and Vo-Tec, Kingston. Prior to retirement, Daniel was employed by Trane & Encon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph & Clarence, Jr.

Daniel is survived by a sister, Gladys (McDermott) Raspen, brothers, Mark & wife, Jane McDermott, Sweet Valley, James McDermott, Dallas, who he lived with and was his care giver, several nieces and nephews.

Daniel’s family would like to thank the nurses of Bayada Home Health Care and Bayada Hospice for the loving care during this time.

Private services have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre.
