Curtis A. Caiby

Deacon Curtis A. Caiby, 57, originally of Brookly, NY, now of Hanover Twp., passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at his home.

Born in Savannah, GA on November 9, 1964, he was a son of Eleanore (Libert) Blount and the late Raphael Caiby.

Curtis was employed as a school crossing guard for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. He was a Deacon and faithful member of New Life Community Church, Hanover Twp.

Curtis enjoyed sports, cooking, watching old movies and listening to music. He especially loved playing the piano and singing.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother, Preston Caiby.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Maria DeFaria Caiby; mother, Eleanore (Libert) Blount; stepson, Kevin De Souza; stepdaughter, Karen De Souza; 2 grandchildren; brothers, Darwin, Anthony and Shawn Caiby and Daniel McCormick; sisters, Angela Caiby-Ward, Sandra Caiby and Tamika McCormick; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at Noon from Shiloh Baptist Church, 1926 Wayne Ave. Scranton PA 18508.
