Clinton Harrison, 76, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plain Township.
Born in Anderson, SC on April 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Fred and Louise (West) Harrison. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Clinton was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Wilkes-Barre. He was an Executive Member of the Wilkes-Barre N.A.A.C.P and Past Master of Golden Rule Lodge #15. He was an avid Eagles fan.
He was a member of Laborers Union #215 and worked at PP & L and Bechtel Corporation, Berwick.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, the former Yolanda Merriwether; his sons, Clinton A. Harrison and wife Stacy, Bear, DE; Gregory D. Harrison, Philadelphia Rory S. Harrison, Wilkes-Barre; Dwayne Harrison and wife Lisa, Forty Fort; Quentin Harris and wife Tara, Phoenix, AZ; daughters Deborah Harrison, Philadelphia; Tamela Harrison, Clinton, MD; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Rebecca Powell, Philadelphia; 2 nephews and 1 niece; a host of cousins and his dog, Bella.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 48 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre with the Reverend James Breese of the First Baptist Church, Pittston, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 48 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre.
