Cleatrice M. Dempsey

Cleatrice M. Dempsey, 59 years old of Plains, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 25th, 2022

She was born on September 23, 1962, in Jacksonville, FL, she is the daughter of Hermon Hitson and Bennie Mae Dempsey.

She graduated from Mount Vernon High School,  she went to school for nursing , she did volunteer work for C.A.G Daycare, then went to obtain her nursing degree from Monroe Community College and worked as a Nurses Tech at St. Luke's Villa. After Retiring from nursing she then worked for Grottos Pizza where she was the,”hostess with the mostess”

She loved singing to people around her. She loved cooking whether it was Naseem’s favorite food, Martin’s favorite food, or just a big feast for the whole family. She loved to laugh & smile and make others feel good about themselves no matter who they were.  She always had a ear to listen to other people's problems

She was survived by her two children Martin L. Silvera and Naseem I. Johnson,  followed by her 2 grandchildren Denim Z.Silvera and Kaiden J. Silvera, her siblings Gregory Dempsey, John Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, Herbert Dempsey, Herlonda Dempsey, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins that she truly loved.

Cleatrice Dempsey was a warm hearted woman who wanted the best for everyone. She was a giver and a caretaker and resilient after every battle she fought. She was of the heart of the family and a pillar of the community that loved her tribe

Services will be held on Saturday, February 5, at  3:00 PM at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 465 S Main St, Wilkes-Barre, with Pastor Fraida Hickson.  A viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
