Christine (Poperowitz) Cain

Christine (Poperowitz) Cain, 68, of Warrior Run, passed away on August 8, 2021, at her home.

Born in Ashley, Pa, on December 25, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Alfred J.  and Mary J. (Warke) Poperowitz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Burton in 2008; sisters, Gloria Remus, and Claire Stahley.

Christine was a graduate of Ashley High School. Prior to retirement, Christine worked at CVS Caremark.

Prior to his passing, Christine enjoyed spending time in her backyard with her husband Burton and their dog Nugget. She loved planting flowers, listening to Neil Diamond, cheering on the Raiders, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Nicholas Cain  and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Mia Cain, Preston Cain, Ella Cain, and Owen Cain; brothers, Al Poperowtiz, Frank Poperowtiz, James Poperowitz, Rick Poperowitz, and Mark Poperowitz; sisters, Pat Voitek and Debbie Roberts; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral home, Wilkes-Barre, on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 12:00 PM, with Reverend Carol Coleman officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 12:00. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
