Carol Joy (Tarnoski) Sitar, 76, of Hanover Twp., passed away on December 4, 2024, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born on September 2, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ann Marie (Krawec) Tarnoski.

Carol was a member of the St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church. After receiving her master's degree, Carol went on to be a teacher for many years for Wilkes-Barre Area at Kissler Elementary School. Carol was known for being a generous person. She was always the first person to offer someone food, drinks, comfort, support and her love language was gift giving. She made sure to give back to her community by making donations to churches or anyone in need. In her free time, she loved to shop, loved to be crafty, and had a strong love for decorating.

Surviving to cherish Carol’s memory is her loving husband of 50 years, John Sitar, and sister, Barbra Tarnoski Reiser.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11 from 5:30-7PM, at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 12, at 10AM, at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church. Interment will be private.
