Betty (Lear) Miller

Betty (Lear) Miller, 84, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Celtic Hospice, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born on March 2, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Olin and Hilda (Preston) Lear.
Betty worked as a secretary at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre. She was a life long member of Firwood United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, where she served many years on the Alter Guild, visited homebound members and scheduled Sunday morning greeters.
Betty was loved by everyone and enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Butch” Miller.
Left to cherish her memory are son John A. Miller Sr. and companion Joanne Hoyt, son Jeff Miller and wife Linda; grandchildren John A. Miller Jr., Sheila Williams, Andy Cisney, Joe Cisney and Jack Carroll; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2 from Firwood United Methodist Church, 399 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre at 11:00 am.
Family and friends may call from 10:30 am until the time of the service. Reverend Anthony Brima will be officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Sunday from 4-8 P.M. at Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre .
