Anthony E. Malys, 86, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Plains on August 5, 1928, he was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Dezinski) Malys. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Anthony was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston and American Legion Post 558, Plains.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by City Shoe as a repairman. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna L. (Scocozzo) Malys; brothers Stanley, Henry and Leonard Malys and a sister, Genevieve Mrak.
Surviving are his son, Edward Malys of Hawley; daughter Ann Marie Warman of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren Debbie Baker-Wilgus, Maggie Jones; Miranda Warman, Dave Malys, Jessica Dillon and Shannon Malys; 17 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
