Ann (Calimeres) Rittenhouse, 63, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on November 22, 1962, she was a daughter of Marina (Ziss) Calimeres and the late George Calimeres.
Ann was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre. She enjoyed traveling with her family and loved to see the changing leaves during the fall. She also liked going to the casino with her late husband, Lester, and the two also shared a deep love and appreciation for music, especially Sammy Hagar. Additionally, Ann especially loved spending time with her beloved cats, Roscoe, Gizmo and Daryl.
More than anything, Ann took tremendous pride in serving as the manager at her family’s business, Curry Donuts, on S. Pennsylvania Ave. Her regular customers never had to wait for their coffee and donuts because she started their orders the second their cars pulled into the parking lot. She didn’t just know the names and orders of the regular customers, but she knew all about their lives, including their children, their interests, and so much more. She was a fantastic listener and enjoyed hearing about everyone’s days and their life stories. Ann’s smile was bright and charismatic, warming up the spirit of each and every person who walked through the door, even on the coldest of days and the earliest of mornings. The customers at Curry Donuts became her good friends, and on hard days, they are the people she looked forward to seeing the most. In addition to her time spent at Curry Donuts, she also worked at H&R Block during tax season.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Rittenhouse; several brothers and sisters-in-law; Franklin the cat and Baby the dog.
Along with her mother, Ann is survived by her loving children, Athena Rittenhouse & companion, Paul Lunski; George Rittenhouse and girlfriend, Michelle Oliva; grandson, Roman Lunski; sister, Christine Stelmack and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Infusion Center for their care, compassion, and kindness.
