On Monday, January 31, 2022, James Cummings, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 57.

James was born on January 16, 1965 in Rochester, NY to Herbert and Dorothy (Schult) Cummings. He received his pastoral degree from Baptist Bible College in Binghamton, NY in 1987, and served as pastor for five different churches over a 23 year period in Northeast Pennsylvania. On May 22, 1987, he married Lydia Coy (Woodward) Cummings. They raised one son, Joshua, and two daughters, Charity and Faith.

James had a passion for ministry. He faithfully served his local community in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He took great joy in spending time with his four grandsons and granddaughter. He enjoyed caring for his dog, Teddy, baking, and playing table games.

James was preceded in death by his father, Herbert. He is survived by his wife, Lydia, his three children, Joshua, Charity, and Faith, his four grandsons, Harvey, Noah, Judah, and Lucas, his granddaughter, Abigail, his mother, Dorothy, his two brothers, Paul, and Steve, his sister, Mary, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:00 PM at High Point Baptist Church, 1919 Mountain Rd, Larksville, PA 18651.  Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.  Officiating will be Pastor Matt Tarr.

Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
