Ronald W. Warke

Ronald Warke, 78, of Barnes St., Ashley, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born June 15, 1939, he was the son of William and Sophie Warke. He attended Ashley schools and was a member of St. Leo’s Church, Ashley.

Ron loved being out in nature, hunting, fishing and long rides in the country. He really loved flirting with the ladies, dining out and enjoyed ice cream and a Pepsi (or 7 or 8!). Over the last 10 years, he faced many serious health problems but refused to give up.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Mayewski in 2001 and his brother Gerald Warke in 2003.

He is survived by nieces and nephew, Lisa Mayewski, Bill Warke and Bethann Ashford, great niece and nephews Cody, Justin, Connor and Logan Warke, Samantha and Bobby Ashford and sister-in-law Charlotte Warke.

Ron wanted to thank all of the doctors and nurses who cared for him over the years, especially everyone at Birchwood in Nanticoke where he had been a resident.

Ron wanted to give a very special thanks to his dear friend Rose Krakowski, who was always there for him whenever he needed help. Thank you for being a wonderful friend, Rose.

In keeping with his wishes, funeral arrangements were private. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Arrangements were handled by Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Wilkes-Barre.
