Robert D. Jarrett, 68, of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at his home.
Born in Nanticoke on May 31, 1950, he was the son of Bridget Jarrett of Nanticoke and the late Robert A. Jarrett.
He was an Eagle Scout and graduate of Nanticoke High School, Class of 1968.
Robert furthered his education at Wilkes College where he earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Biology.
Early in his career, he worked as a Research Chemist for Diamond Shamrock Corporation in Ohio. While employed as a Research Chemist, he was awarded several patents for advancements in the medical field. Upon his return to the Wyoming Valley, Robert was employed in the laboratory of the former Mercy Hospital and for eleven years, as an instructor in the Biology Department of LCCC.
Robert was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church, Plymouth. He had a love for animals and music.
Surviving is his wife of 19 years, the former Melanie Stubblebine; his daughter Amy Crisp and her husband, Ryan; grandson, Camden and granddaughter Cadence, all of Ohio.
He is also survived by; a brother, William of Nanticoke; sisters, Judy Zavislak and her husband, Darrell of Hunlock Creek; Joyce Koepke of Scranton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 465 South Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
