Nora F. Vitz, 82, of Hanover Township, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 2, 2019.
Born in Sweet Valley on May 8, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Susan (Trescott) Hontz. She attended church services at Sullivan Place.
Nora loved making friends and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother and friend to everyone. She loved music and taught piano, guitar and singing. She also enjoyed dancing.
Nora stayed home to raise her children before going to work. Prior to retiring, she was employed by Hampton House for over 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Gray, who passed away in 1967.
Surviving are her sons, George Gray, Nanticoke and Kenneth Gray, Wilkes-Barre; daughter Susan Dane, Wilkes-Barre; her companion of 30 years, Nelson Wilcox; grandchildren, Jeannine Dane, Linda Gray, Tanya Gray and Kenneth Gray; several great-grandchildren including Gavin and Darian; sister-in-law, Regina (Ron) Gill, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Nora’s family would like to thank Life Geisinger and the nurses who cared for her.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 465 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre with the Reverend Frank Carey officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 2 til 4 p.m.
