Margaret Mary Kolveck

Margaret Mary (Martz) Kolveck, 95, of Moosic, passed away on Sunday at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Berwick, on October 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Nick and Julia (Poleon) Martz.

Margaret was a member of Queen of the Apostles Church (formerly Ss. Peter & Paul), Avoca. Prior to retiring in 1983, Margaret worked in the local garment industry. 

She loved playing bingo and going to the casino.  Margaret was a skilled seamstress, she would even make clothes for her grandchildren.  Family was important to her, she enjoyed spending time with her children and all the grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adam C. Kolveck, who passed on January 31, 1979, two infant daughters, Barbara Ann and Mary Ann Kolveck, a grandson, Michael Norton, three sisters, Irene Siegel, Anna Poli, Barbara Manzo,  and four brothers, John, William, Fred and Edward Martz.

Surviving her are; five daughters, Kathleen Sales, S.C., Diane Norton, Syracuse, NY, Marlene Kolveck, Moosic, Jo Ann Davis, Moosic, Cindy Sandy, Scranton, two sons, Robert, Moosic, Ronald, Duryea, 23 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren,  a sister, Mary Rossi, FL, a brother, Robert Martz, Moosic, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16 at 9:30 a.m. from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 728 Main Street, Avoca with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Apostles Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Reverend Phillip J. Sladicka officiating. Interment will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Moosic.

Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
